Life changes. You change. Goals change. It happens all the time. No high school diploma? The reasons for not having one are numerous, but the reasons for going back are almost always the same. South Texas College is here to serve your needs.

Think about the millions of people who got their GED, improved their math and reading skills, learned English and then went on to earn college degrees and start new careers. Come to the Continuing, Professional, and Workforce Education Department at South Texas College and choose your career and technical education pathway.

The Career Pathway Program is designed to give students with less than a high school education the opportunity to obtain their GED while earning a college certificate of degree.

Students will enroll in coursework tied to College Success Skills, Job Readiness skills, GED preparation and the first two college courses of a Certificate program.

The entire career pathway is structured in stackable credentials; each stackable credential leads to employment. The first two college courses that students take are part of the Occupational Skills Award Program; which in turn is a subset of the Certificate Program; which leads into the Associate of Applied Science Degree; which aligns to the Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Applied Technology Degree.

To ensure students are successful throughout the entire career pathway, they receive support services in the areas of college and career navigation, advising, counseling, tutoring, job placement and career planning.

Registration is easy and quick
